Ten Year Anniversary

The Fulton County Economic Development Corporation was formed in May of 2014. The organization was designed to provide economic development services in Fulton County, Ohio, and support business growth opportunities across the county. A small group of business owners and executives and the Board of Fulton County Commissioners worked diligently to set up the non-profit organization, raise funds through membership recruitment, and hire its first Executive Director. By the end of 2014, the group had secured 58 members and Matt Gilroy was hired as Executive Director. Today the organization hosts more than 100 members has successfully completed many activities that benefit business development in Fulton County

In ten years, the FCEDC has successfully completed more than 70 economic development projects where businesses have invested more than $1.5 billion in new construction and machinery & equipment in Fulton County. More than 1,200 new jobs have been created by the businesses making this investment as well.

Sherwood State Bank

A new branch for the Sherwood State Bank is under construction in Archbold, Ohio. Located on Stryker Street in the downtown area, this bank branch will provide customers with lobby and drive-thru transaction opportunities as well as opportunities to meet with lenders and other bank officers in Archbold. The Archbold location will be the second location for Sherwood State Bank in Fulton County as they recently made a substantial investment in the Village of Fayette.

Sherwood State Bank plans to be open in the summer of 2024.

Reelwood Kitchen & Skye Cinema

If you’re up for dinner and a movie there is now an opportunity to do both in just one stop in the City of Wauseon. In 2023 and 2024 the owners of Skye Cinema have made significant investments to improve the theater experience for their customers by installing reclining leather seats in the theater section and by investing in an on-site restaurant called Reelwood Kitchen. The new restaurant hosted it’s opening day on April 2nd and the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The kitchen offers excellent lunch and dinner menus that includes many made-from-scratch options. Hey, if you have the need to get to your seats in plenty of time before the movie; well, the theater allows customers to bring in food items from the kitchen.

Hilton TRU

A 98 room Hilton TRU hotel is under construction north of Wauseon near the Ohio Turnpike and Fulton County Fairgrounds. This modern hotel will provide families, business travelers and others the opportunity to stay in a comfortable and classy setting with many amenities in the surrounding area. Construction began in 2023 and the plan is for the hotel to be in operation by October of 2024.
